Betty Carnahan is in The Circle this month. She is a great representative of our church family. Betty exemplifies the great characteristics also possessed by many of our wonderful congregation. And she has done a terrific job this year as chair of our 75th Anniversary Celebration. Betty noticed that it was coming up, talked to Frank, and with his support, put together a great committee.

With her leadership, they dug into the files and the people of Westminster. She was the guiding force behind our three celebrations. What a great year for us and our church! She has given some real help (as well as motivation) to those who will celebrate Westminster’s 100th Anniversary in 2032. And I hope that some of those leaders are members of our congregation today!

One of the greatest strengths of Westminster, in its 75th year, is the nature and character of the wonderful Christians who form its congregation. I see you in many of your tasks and the gifts of your many talents. Sometimes I want to mention your names—but mostly I do not for fear that I will miss a name. Many of you are quiet and sometimes anonymous in your gifts. You are truly children of God. Your graciousness and giving spirit are prevalent in this congregation.

Betty, this month, serves as your representative because the task was so monumental—and the ground unbroken for many years.
