What's in the Circle?

"Well done, good and faithful steward." Wow, can you imagine?

"How amazing!"

It is beyond my grasp for Him to tell me "Well done, my good and faithful servant," but I really do want to please Him. I want, as you do, to choose His path above all others.

I am working hard on my studies through the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary Distance Learning Program. I am currently taking New Testament, Christian Education, Studies in Paul, and Church History. And next Monday, November 6, Reformed Worship and Sacraments begins. The classes are very time intensive and I have had to really discipline myself to do it very well.

Last Sunday in church, during the Prayer of Confession, I confessed to our God that I was not organizing my time as well as I should. When I considered the fact that I was working to follow the path that I believe God has laid out for me, I felt some real guilt and asked God to help me work even harder. I feel new life in myself now. Thank you, Lord!

My duties as an Elder, publishing the Chimes, and doing the lay-outs for the church directory, believe it or not, provide a great outlet for me. I still have many Presbytery duties related to the Committee on Ministry and the mission trips that I have taken.

In fact tonight, I will be going to Wicomico Presbyterian Church to do the Congo Presentation with Donna Bowers. David Kaminski, our former Interim Paster, is the Interim at Wicomico currently and he lines these things up as soon as the Presbytery sends a mission team.

I am planning to return to Guatemala with a team on January 3. We will be teaching some Bible School at the Mam Center, planting more trees on the mountainside near Quetzaltenango, and, hopefully, writing the first draft of a partnership agreement with the Mam. (We already have a partnership with Kananga Presbytery in the DR Congo.)

Ho good it is to serve the Lord and to be blessed with you as my church family. You are absolutely the greatest!

Nzambi aku benesh,

Sally
