What's in the Circle?

Last summer, ten members of New Castle Presbytery visited Kananga, our partner presbytery. We were greeted with warmth, love, and joy!. To commemorate Pastor
Tshibuabua ’s visit to NCP (see Guest Column), a special gift is being planned. The planning committee for the visit is requesting that each NCP church submit a quilt block that will be into a banner for display in Kananga.

All NCP churches are invited and encouraged to participate in this project. Westminster quilters—a great project for you!!

The block should be a 13 inch square of washed, unbleached muslin with a design representing our church. Our quilters can use their skills to design Westminster ’ s block. Even a picture of the church can be used. Our church photographers may have some ideas about that! The name of our church should also appear on the block.

The block is needed by April 16th. The quilters of Elkton Presbyterian Church have offered to assemble and quilt the banner.

The completed blocks should be sent to Rev. Laurel Loveless, Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 E. Main Street, Elkton, Md.21921.

There will be some opportunity to present gifts to Reverend Tshibuabua while he is here—but packing for his return home could be very tricky. I have asked him for a list of things that would be good for the churches that he will be able to take home. Shipping is not an option.

The planning committee would love to find him a good used lap-top. The presbytery office in Kananga has a generator so he could keep it charged. Keep your ears open and let me know if you hear of anything!
