Dear Friends,

The Lewes Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC) and the International Student Orientation Program (ISOP) have been gearing-up to welcome the seasonal workers who will be climbing off the buses soon at the Valero station on Rehoboth Avenue. As a ministry of hospitality and to fulfill the Biblical injunction to “ welcome the stranger, ” church folks are meeting the buses and greeting the students with welcome packets containing useful information in their native tongue. Also the churches are providing meals throughout the week where the kids can grab a quick bite, have a forum for mutual concerns and enjoy table fellowship not only with other students but church people as well.

Westminster needs volunteers to do its fair share in this operation. Westminster will cooperate with Epworth in providing supper on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Carol Smith and Sally Cordrey are co-coordinators and everyone is encouraged to give a hand in one way or another by donating prepared food and/or working in the kitchen or being part of the hospitality team or clean-up crew.

Westminster is also scheduled to meet buses during the last week of June. Most of the students will have arrived before then, but LRAC has committed to meet and greet from mid-May through the end of June. Please consider signing up for this work.

Sign-up sheets and more information on what different jobs entail will be available at church in the weeks ahead. Please do yourself a favor and get to interact with some our special guest workers this summer by signing up to help. These kids are future leaders of the countries from which they come. Show them your America with a smile and a warm welcome. And remember the teaching of Hebrews 13:2 – “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
