April 2006

Dear Friends,

Easter is looming and April 16th will be a glorious day. To get to Easter, though, we must first finish Lent. We enter Holy Week on Palm Sunday April 9th. Our Maundy Thursday observance will include dinner with a slide presentation on Sally Cordrey’s trip to Guatemala with others from the presbytery. After supper we will “take the cup” in Holy Communion and meditate in the shadows during the Office of Tenebrae. On Good Friday services will be held at noon at the Lutheran Church of our Savior. Easter sunrise this year will be outside the Village Improvement Association building at six o’clock. Worshippers will be facing the ocean and see the sunrise together at 6:23 a.m. as the Resurrection is proclaimed. Easter services at Westminster are at 8:30 and 10:00.

Blessing in these fading days of Lent and joy and peace as the light of Easter dawns anew.

Frank
